This Week in Room 3

In Math, we continued our unit on Time. This week we took a closer look at Analog clocks. We talked about the names of all the parts of the Analog clock, such as, face, hour hand, minute hand, second hand, clock numbers. We learned that there are 12 numbers on a clock and explored counting by 5s to count the minutes in between each number. We learned there are 60 minutes in every hour. We also continue to enjoy Math card games with our peers. During Math centres, students have been learning personalized Math skills in small groups.

In Literacy we continue to do daily Word Work, practicing our reading and writing skills. We did oral sharing about our weekends and have been practicing asking and answering questions to one another. In Grammar, we used our understanding of nouns, verbs and adjectives to make silly stories called MAD Libs, and have continued our exploration of Adjectives. In writing, we wrote special messages to Ms. Bradley for Educational Assistant Week and did more work on our Memory Book project.

In Gym, we wrapped up our Volleyball skills and played cooperative tag games in the gym and outside.

In Art we used recycled magazines to make Earth collages. They turned out super cute and we cannot wait to display them for Earth Day next week!

In Social Learning this week we discussed Personal Space and Asking for Permission before we give hugs or high-fives.

As always, if you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to connect with me via email.

Have an amazing weekend with your families!

-Miss Karly :)
