This week in Room 3:

Literacy - We read a poem, called Apples. We practiced reciting the poem together. We continued to explore syllables and count how many syllables were in the poem. We cut and tasted apples and discussed how the apples tasted. We discussed "adjectives" and how these are describing words. Then we looked for and identified adjectives in the poem. We continued to investigate three more letters this week: H, K and V.

Math - This week in Math we began taking a look at addition to 20 using number lines. The students have had a lot of success using this mathematical tool. We will continue practice using number lines to answer addition questions, and also begin to use them for subtraction.

Art - This week in Art we worked on our Art Cards which turned out super cute. We also did a watercolour painting and writing activity for Orange Shirt Day.

Science - This week in Science, we did an experiment using pop rock candy and coke to blow up a balloon. The students were excited to see the balloon inflate using candy and the pop. Science is a lot of fun and often a highlight in our week!

Reminder to please send your child's library books back to school. It is exciting for them to pick out new books each week during our library time.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!

-Miss Karly
