This week in Room 3:

Literacy - This week we shared about our weekend and wrote our weekend reports. We did a good job exploring our independent word work centres. We were engaged and lots of learning was happening. In discussion about Remembrance Day, we looked at the book "What is Peace?" By Todd Parr. The students had an opportunity to write about when they feel at Peace. We also practiced answering WH questions when looking at a picture. At the end of the week, we wrote in our journal. The question of the day was "Would you rather be a fish or a bird? Why?" We are working on answering questions with full sentences and adding details to our writing. We also read the poem, Recess, and practiced counting syllables and identifying nouns. 

Social Learning - This week we looked at the emotion, Scared. We talked about what it feels like in our bodies when we feel scared, and strategies we can use when we feel scared.

Math - This week in Math we made Beaded Number Lines, practiced using them and continued our unit on Patterns. 

Art - This week we made a sun-catcher poppy wreath. It turned out beautifully. :)

Gym - This week we played some cooperative games, and continued practicing our Basketball skills.

Please send me an email if you would like your child to have a picture retake done so I can ensure they get a picture.
