This Week in Room 3
In Math, we are working on learning about Shapes. This week, we talked about 3D Shapes and learned the names of common 3D shapes, such as cube, cylinder, and sphere. We also discussed 3D shapes attributes. We learned what a Vertex, Edge and Face is. We practiced counting the edges, vertices and faces on 3D shapes.
In Literacy, we wrote How-To books on how to teach someone how to make Hot Chocolate. We also wrote in our journals. The question was "Would you rather have 100 dollars or 100 friends?". Students made a choice and wrote about why they made that choice. We practiced orally sharing what we did on the weekend and also practiced asking questions.
During tech time, we have begun to practice our typing skills, on a website called typingclub.com. The students are engaged with this and have been learning proper typing skills.
In gym, we began a unit on Floor Hockey and this has been a big hit!
As always, if you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to connect with me via email. Have a wonderful weekend!
-Miss Karly :)
